It’s Friday! I did nine hours of overtime and did some kicking up at the gym this week as well. I am so glad I have an evening off. I’m worn and definitely don’t think I will make until 3:00 without an energy drink today.
I’ve slacked off since I did the Cowtown Half. And it shows! I’m working on building my base mileage back up to where it should be. I’m getting there but had a few moments where I surprised myself how bad and how extremely gast I got out of shape. I had not stopped working out entirely. I just slacked off for a while.
Now for the good news. Even though my fitness level dropped fast, it hasn’t taken too much too get back into the swing. The hardest part was finding that innner drive to keep pushing. I developed the mentality of ” I am in good enough shape I can go easy today ande ease back in”. That is crap. I am having to use the same discipline all over again to get back into shape. It’s tough but I keep saying “DO NOT STOP! DO NOT DROP YOUR PACE! YOU HAVE DONE FAR MORE AND HAVE FAR MORE TO GO!”
I’ve had dystonic sympotoms picking up when I run and it’s not making it easier. During the last three runs, between miles 4.5-5 my right hand has stoppedd functioning. My fingers just don’t work at all and nothing can move them. And my right foot has gimped so bad that I have a huge blister on the ball of my foot.
Granted, new shoes would help with my foot and the blister. I do drag my right foot and wear the outer edge of my right shoe faster than anything else. And they are worn enough I’m having extra pain. If I don’t get a new pair of Asics this weekend, it’s gonna kill me.
But anyway, it’s Friday! no gym tonight and just relax with Mrs. Awesome
